Welcome
Dawn Levitt is a two-time heart transplant recipient and a freelance writer, poet, and essayist who recently completed her memoir about growing up with congenital heart disease and receiving two heart transplants.
She writes at the intersection of storytelling and healing, combining her personal experiences with C-PTSD and medical trauma with thoughts of love and resilience to turn tough experiences into art. Her essays, poems, and stories have appeared in Insider, Newsweek, and The Bucket, among others. Dawn recently completed her memoir Three-Hearted Girl: A Memoir of Borrowed Time and is in the process of seeking publication. She is currently compiling her collection of poetry in The Bittersweet Gift of Dying Slowly which she expects to be ready for publication soon.
