Furry Friday–Summer Hours-and a new address

We’re finally having some nice warm days here in Michigan.  Gidget McFidget and Bruce Wayne are happy to frolic outside and make half-hearted attempts to catch the squirrels.  They also enjoy basking in the afternoon sunshine as they lounge upon the ottoman in the front window.

The warmer weather agrees with Gidget and me, but Bruce might be a little bit on the warm side if his panting is any indication.

Gidget is doing extremely well even though her fifteenth birthday is approaching quickly.  Bruce is estimated to be eleven years old, and his most recent veterinary checkup revealed a slight heart murmur, possibly because of the heartworm disease he had last year.  Still, he enjoys going for walkies every day and makes it through the usual route without any problem.  Gidget, on the other hand, has begun slowing down and needs assistance about three-quarters of the way through the walk.  I was carrying her at first, but my back did not enjoy the added weight, so we brought the little blue buggy out of storage.  You may recall that Bruce rode in the buggy last summer while he underwent heartworm treatment.  This summer, it’s Gidget’s turn.

Bruce has shown some artistic talent recently, remodeling the pink tug bunny into a model with no squeaker and no head.

Finally, we are taking Furry Fridays to summer hours, and I will be posting once a month instead of every Friday.  I will continue to post transplant-related items on this site and make any writing-related announcements as well.

If you are going to miss the sound of my voice in your head, you can follow me on Substack.  I’ve begun a new blog there and will be posting the majority of my content on that platform.  You can subscribe for free at this link:
